Hang Dallas

Buying art, answered.

Everything worth knowing before you check out. If your question isn’t here, get in touch.

Buying

Who am I buying from?

Hang Dallas. We’re the vetted third party you buy through, so you get a safe checkout, a real return window, and someone to call if anything goes sideways. The artist keeps the majority of what you pay. You’re supporting a working artist, with a layer of protection around the transaction.

Shipping & delivery

How much is shipping?

It depends on the size of the piece, and it’s calculated at checkout. We use flat rates by size instead of live carrier quotes, so the number you see is the number you pay. Art is bigger and more fragile than most things that get shipped, so it costs more than a t-shirt. No getting around that one. Full rate table on our Shipping & Delivery page.

Who actually ships my piece?

The artist does, straight to you. Hang isn’t a warehouse. When you buy, the sale goes to the person who made the work, and they pack and ship it themselves.

When will it go out?

Ready-made pieces ship within 5 business days. Made-to-order and commissioned work takes longer, and the lead time is listed right on the piece.

Is it insured?

Yes. Every piece ships insured, every time. That’s not optional on our end. Coverage is added automatically based on the price of the work.

Can I pick it up or have it hand-delivered?

If you’re within 40 miles of Dallas, we hand-deliver for a flat $100. Outside that radius but still want it hand-carried instead of shipped? Get in touch and we’ll quote it.

What about oversized or high-value pieces?

Large framed work, anything that needs freight, and higher-value originals ship on a custom quote instead of a flat rate. If your piece falls into that, you’ll either see it at checkout or we’ll reach out. You’re also welcome to message us before you buy.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at the moment. If you’re outside the US and set on a piece, reach out and we’ll see what we can do.

It showed up damaged. What now?

Contact us with photos of both the piece and the packaging. Since everything ships insured, we’ll file the claim and get it sorted with you.

Returns

What’s your return policy?

You have 30 days. We’d honestly rather you didn’t. Every sale supports a working artist, so a return comes out of a real person’s pocket. But things happen.

  • Changed your mind? Send it back within 30 days, undamaged, and you cover return shipping.
  • Arrived damaged? That’s on the carrier, not you. Message us and we’ll handle the claim.
  • Something else? We take those case by case. Get in touch and we’ll figure it out.

The artwork

Is the piece an original or a print?

Depends on the piece. Whether it’s an original, a print, part of an edition, numbered, or comes with a certificate of authenticity is listed on that product’s page. Question about a specific work? Ask us.

Does it come framed?

Also varies by piece and is noted on the listing. If you’re not sure, message us before you buy.

Payment & tax

How can I pay?

All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club), plus Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal at checkout.

Do you charge sales tax?

Yes. It’s calculated and added automatically at checkout.

Everything else

Can I commission something custom?

Yes. Submit a request on our Commissions page or get in touch. Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll match you with the right artist.

Can I see a piece in person first?

Sometimes. Get in touch and we’ll arrange a viewing if we can.

How do I take care of my art?

General rules: keep it out of direct sunlight, away from high humidity and big temperature swings, and dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Don’t spray cleaner directly onto the surface. If a piece needs special handling, those instructions come with it.
