Hang Dallas is an artist services and events company in Dallas, Texas, founded in July 2026. It runs a paid membership program that gives local artists a storefront, business tools, and a community, and it produces public events across the city: The Hang Theory lecture series, artist-led workshops, art pop-ups, and more. Anyone can attend the events. Artists apply to join the membership. Collectors can buy original work and prints directly from Hang Dallas artists through the website.
Events in Dallas
What is The Hang Theory?
A public lecture series in Dallas. One speaker, one subject, roughly an hour, in an interesting space rather than a lecture hall. Past subjects have included how photographers actually see, and how Neiman Marcus shaped the cultural identity of Dallas. It is for people who want to learn something on a weeknight without signing up for a class.
What else does Hang Dallas run?
Alongside The Hang Theory: artist-led workshops, art pop-ups, dating events, poetry nights, and casual hang nights.
Who is it for?
Anyone. You do not need to be an artist, a member, or know anything about the subject going in. Most people come with a friend or come alone.
Where are events held?
Various spaces around Dallas. There is no permanent home yet, so events move between rooms across the city. The venue for each event is listed on its page at events.hangdallas.com.
How much do tickets cost?
Around $35 on average. Pricing varies by event and is listed on each event page.
How often do events happen?
Regularly, and more often as the calendar fills out. New events are posted at events.hangdallas.com as they are scheduled.
How do I buy tickets?
Tickets are sold through Luma. Upcoming events and ticket links are at events.hangdallas.com.
Do events sell out?
Sometimes. The August 2026 Neiman Marcus talk sold out. Buying ahead is the safer move.
Is there art for sale at events?
Yes. A small number of member artists bring one piece each, and those pieces are available to buy on site.
Artist membership
What is Hang Dallas artist membership?
A paid membership for working artists in the Dallas area. It covers the business side of being an artist: a place to sell, a way to track whether what you are doing is working, access to shows and opportunities, and other artists to talk to.
What do members get?
- A storefront on the Hang Dallas shop, with Hang Dallas handling checkout, sales tax, and buyer communication
- The Studio, a member dashboard with goal tracking, sales logging, and a running picture of your own numbers
- One-to-one strategy sessions
- A curated list of DFW art shows and open calls with application deadlines
- Discounts with vetted service providers
- Invitations to show and sell work at Hang Dallas events
- Paid opportunities to teach or speak
- A private Slack community
- Guides and worksheets on pricing, goal setting, and outreach
What does it cost?
Two tiers, both with a one time $300 setup fee. The setup fee can be paid upfront or spread over the first year at $25 a month.
- Emerging Artist: $40 a month or $400 a year. 60/40 sales split in the artist's favor. One annual strategy session.
- Growing Artist Member: $125 a month or $1,250 a year. 70/30 sales split in the artist's favor. Four annual strategy sessions. Includes Impressions.
Annual billing is two months free.
What is Impressions?
An AI assisted social media and content tool included with the Growing Artist Member tier. It learns how you write, drafts captions in your voice, runs a weekly content plan, and pulls your messages from different platforms into one inbox.
How is the sales split calculated?
On the net sale price, after processing fees and sales tax. Shipping paid by the buyer passes through to the artist and is not split.
How do I apply?
Applications are at hangdallas.com/pages/apply. Membership is reviewed, not automatic.
Who is it for?
Artists who are already making work and want to sell more of it. It is not a class, and it is not a traditional gallery. Nobody is going to make you an artist. The point is the part after that.
Can I switch or cancel?
Yes. You can move between tiers yourself at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately, downgrades at your next billing date. Dues are not refundable, and annual members keep access through the period they paid for.
Is there a non-compete?
No. You can sell your work anywhere else you like.
Buying art
Can I buy art through Hang Dallas?
Yes. Original work, prints, and editions from Dallas artists are for sale at hangdallas.com. Whether a piece is an original or an edition, and how it is numbered or framed, is listed on each piece.
Where does the money go?
The artist keeps the majority of the proceeds on every sale. Hang Dallas is a vetted conduit to buy through, not a middleman taking the larger share.
How does shipping work?
Shipping is not included in the price, because shipping art is genuinely expensive and hiding it in the price would mean charging everyone for it. You pay a flat rate based on the packaged size of the piece. Everything ships insured.
Pieces larger than about 48 inches packaged are quoted individually or hand delivered.
Do you deliver in person?
Yes. Hand delivery is a flat $100 anywhere within 40 miles of Dallas. Outside that radius, email team@hangdallas.com for a quote.
Do you ship internationally?
No. Email team@hangdallas.com if you have a specific situation.
How long does it take?
Artists ship pre made work within five business days of the sale. Made to order and custom work has its own lead time listed on the piece.
What is the return policy?
Thirty days. If you change your mind, you cover return shipping and the piece has to come back undamaged. If something arrives damaged, email team@hangdallas.com and it gets handled with the carrier.
Can I see a piece in person before I buy?
Sometimes. Email team@hangdallas.com and it can usually be arranged.
Can I commission a piece?
Yes. Details are at hangdallas.com/pages/commissions.
How do I ask about a specific piece?
team@hangdallas.com, or the contact form on the site.
