Shannon Lockwood is an artist and designer based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where art, landscape, and storytelling continue to shape how she sees the world. After earning a Fine Arts degree from Monmouth University with a concentration in Graphic Design, she spent more than a decade building a career in branding, design, and creative direction.

Painting eventually became the place where that experience could loosen its grip. Less structured, more intuitive, and more personal, it gave her a way to return to image-making without a client, campaign, or objective attached.

Shannon draws much of her inspiration from the scenery of North Texas: wide skies, quiet pastures, oak trees, familiar roads, animals, and the small details that make a place begin to feel like home. Her paintings often sit somewhere between observation and memory, shaped as much by feeling as by the landscape itself.

Her design background is still present in the work, particularly in her use of composition, color, and balance, but the paintings are ultimately about something softer. A familiar road. A field at the end of the day. An animal with a story attached to it. A landscape that carries the feeling of a particular season or point in life.

Through Shannon Lockwood Studio, she creates original paintings and archival fine art prints centered on landscape, memory, and place. The work is warm, approachable, and quietly nostalgic, made to bring a sense of story and calm into the spaces where it lives.

Outside the studio, Shannon is usually somewhere in the middle of family life with her husband and two boys, a perspective that continues to shape the memories, places, and everyday moments she is drawn to paint.
