Dawn Babcock

Dawn Babcock paints from life. The 6:30 sunrise at White Rock Lake. The Texas sky in spring. Cherries from a friend’s farm in the Yakima Valley. A New Hampshire lake in July.

She grew up in a coastal town, which explains all the water. Travel explains the rest, along with a weakness for a fun still life: cherries, a lobster, a poured glass of wine. She works in acrylic and pastel, mostly on paper.

Her work has shown at YAM art Gallery in East Dallas and DNA Galleries in Oklahoma City, and was selected for Art Vibe Garland 2026. She says her paintings give the eyes a calm place to rest and the mind room to wander. She’s right.
