Hang Dallas ยท For Dallas Artists
You didn't start making art to run a marketing department.
Hang Dallas is an artist support system. The tools, the people, and the rooms your work needs.
The job nobody told you about.
The second job
You make the work. Then you price it, post it, ship it, track it, and explain it at dinner. The business side is a whole job, and nobody hands you the manual.
The feed
You were promised an audience. You got an algorithm that wants a daily video of you pointing at captions. Posting like an influencer is not a business plan.
The alone part
No studio mates. No deadlines. No one asking how the work is going. Momentum is hard to keep when nobody is watching.
What we do about it
So we built the support system.
Hang Dallas is an artist services and events company in Dallas. We run lectures, workshops, poetry nights, and art shows all over the city. We put real work on real walls in front of real people.
And we built The Studio: a platform for running the business side of an art practice. Goals you can actually control, resources that skip the fluff, and a community that shows up.

August 4, Times Ten Cellars. Sold out.
Open Studio
Support is for everyone. Start here.
A Hang Dallas account, with the tools we wish someone had handed us.
Goal tracking that makes sense
Track the inputs you control: conversations, follow-ups, applications. Not vanity metrics. Not pressure.
Guides and resources
Pricing your work five ways. Outreach templates that don’t sound like templates. A cost-of-living calculator that tells you your real number.
The DFW shows list
Every show worth applying to in Dallas-Fort Worth, with deadlines, in one place.
The community
Our Slack, member happy hours, and quarterly group strategy sessions. Artists who are working on the same things you are.
Name, email, password. That’s the whole signup.
How it works.
Create your account
Two minutes. You’re in The Studio the moment you set a password.
Set a goal, meet the others
Pick one number to chase this quarter. Say hi in Slack. Come stand in a room with art at one of our events.
Apply when you’re ready
When you want your work in our shop and on our walls, apply to become a Curated Artist. No pressure. The door doesn’t close.
So what does it cost?
Nothing, to start. Open Studio is free, and it is not a trial.
No card. No trial clock. Free means free. You are in as soon as you set a password, and you can stay as long as you want.
All artists deserve support. This is us meaning it.
Open Studio is tools and community. Membership is us selling your work.
Curated Artists · By Application
When you’re ready to sell with us.
Open Studio is for every artist. Curated Artists is the next step: work we put our name behind. Your pieces in our shop, on walls at our events, and in front of the people we spend all year gathering. We review every application, and when we say yes, we mean it.
- Your work in the Hang Dallas shop. When it sells, 60% goes to you
- Apply to our pop-ups and shows
- Your own artist page on hangdallas.com
- One 1:1 strategy session a year
- Everything in Open Studio
- Everything in Emerging, with 70% to you when work sells
- Four 1:1 strategy sessions a year
- Impressions: your social presence, written in your voice, handled
- First look at bigger opportunities as they come
Both tiers have a one-time $300 setup fee (upfront, or spread over your first year). Annual plans get two months free.
Applications are read by humans. You’ll hear back within a few days.
On our walls
This is what it looks like.
Real rooms, real work, real people standing in front of it.

Sierra Barnes, Dallas
Three of Sierra’s pieces hung at our August lecture: a room full of people, face to face with her work, talking about it. Abstract acrylic and mixed media, a handwritten poem on the back of every piece.

Fair questions.
Is free actually free?
Yes. No card, no trial that expires, no gotcha. Open Studio is free because support should be.
Do I need to be accepted into Open Studio?
No. Open Studio is not curated. Every artist is welcome, whatever stage you’re at. Curated Artists is by application. That’s the difference.
What does Hang Dallas take?
Nothing from Open Studio members. When a Curated Artist’s work sells through our shop or our shows, we split the sale, and most of it goes to the artist.
Will this sell my art?
We won’t promise that, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does. What we do is keep you accountable to the habits that grow an art business, and put your work in rooms where it can be seen.
What’s the application like?
A short form about you and your work. A human reads it. You hear back within a few days.
I’m not sure I’m ready for any of this.
That’s what Open Studio is for. Or skip the forms and book 15 minutes with Jorge. No pitch, ask him anything.
